Fümé | Manzil Downtown
1:27 AM
Hi guys! Last weekend, my friend Jayven of @takenbyjayven and I had a food tasting at Fümé located at the Manzil Downtown Hotel.
*Fümé features uncomplicated yet delicious food with a menu from across the globe, where the dishes are based on comfort food with a sharing concept. No bells, whistles or flashing lights, just wholesome food from around the world.
We tried out all the dishes from their "Business Lunch" menu. For the starter menu, we had the Charcoal Roasted Tiger Prawns in Herbs & Lemon, the Steak Tartare with Slow-Cooked Organic Egg & Garlic Bread, and the Watermelon & Cashew Salad. These are my thoughts for each:
Charcoal Roasted Tiger Prawns in Herbs & Lemon - This is my favourite from the starter menu since it is very flavoursome.
Steak Tartare with Slow-Cooked Organic Egg & Garlic Bread - I loved the garlic bread but I didn't really enjoy the raw meat, however my friend Jayven really liked it!
Watermelon & Cashew Salad - I can say that this is a must have meal! I suggest you eat this with your main course since it has a very light taste which seems to go well and wash out the heavier tastes of the other dishes.
For our main course, we had the Smashed Potatoes with Crème Fraîche, Capers & Veal Bacon, the Honey & Chili Marinated Chicken, and the Pulled Beef Brisket Bun with Vinegar Slaw. These are my thoughts for each dish:
Smashed Potatoes with Crème Fraîche, Capers & Veal Baco - This is quite heavy to eat but the sauce is so savoury.
Honey & Chili Marinated Chicken - Our favourite!!! We actually finished eating the whole dish! The chicken is well cooked, being very tender and having a heavenly taste. Definitely a must try!
Pulled Beef Brisket Bun with Vinegar Slaw - The portion is huge! I found this one delicious though it has a strong taste. Jayven liked it anyway. It comes with an extra BBQ sauce and vinegar slaw.
For our dessert, we had the Date & Banana Pudding, Custard, Vanilla Ice Cream, and the Girls - 12 Inches of Pleasure. My thoughts for each dishes are:
Date & Banana Pudding, Custard, Vanilla Ice Cream - I don't really like dates but this dessert is really good. It kinda tastes like cinnamon with a little bit of an aftertaste though. The only thing is, I wish the ice cream scoop was bigger, as it tasted really well with the cake.
Girls - 12 Inches of Pleasure - It has salted caramel and chocolate eclair. The dessert is very light and not so sweet. It's the perfect dessert which I truly enjoyed every bite!
I hope you guys like this post. More photos below :)
